Bonny Braids - and Amy!!

Bonny or Amy could probably tell me the year, but the girls look to be 10 or 11. They braided their hair all over their head - I'm not sure why - it was something to do I guess. Or maybe they wanted the "crimped" look and crimping irons had not been invented.

Amy spent the night and they spent the evening "fooling" around and having fun - I do remember that!

I love this picture (I have a copy). I remember braiding and taking the picture. I loved those pj's, if memory serves correct my mom sewed them and Karen had some too, not too sure about Heather though?

Wow, Bonny we had some long locks!

i do remember this as well - i think this was the influence of my new multi-cultural surroundings and my attempt to fit in.

i did always have fun doing sleepovers with Amy - and the rest of my cousins.

remember playing spy?

I believe I nearly forgot about playing spy. What were the rules again? I shall have my children play this summer. What fun!

My girls love braiding their hair this way. Especially when they go camping.
And spy! oh the fun of playing spy, though I don't remember the rules. Though I seem to remember it required pencil and notepad!

i don't remember the rules AT ALL. But I do remember the required pad and pencil, and lots of hiding and being sneaky. And lots of whispering.

But I don't know if there were teams (i would think so) but it didn't seem contentious, so it seemed like everyone was a winner.

i also remember aunt frances making apple crisp (YUM) and eating the peelings from the apples.

Yes there was the required pencil and pad. Lots of secrets and hiding and sneaking. What fun, no winners, no loosers. I believe it was a game that moms encouraged - q-u-i-e-t!
