Thanks for Cub Scouts!!

The top photo is Blanche Card with some Scouts from a few years ago!  The middle shot is of Harry F. as a young Cub Scout.  And the last shot is Porter, the latest Terrill Cub.

Over the years, I have worked with the Scouts in many capacities.  When I was a teen, Alice and I often helped my mom out with her Cub Scout den.  I have been a Den Leader several times over the years.  I have been a Scout Committee Chairman.  And I'm still a Merit Badge counselor for several Merit Badges.

And currently I function as a Stake Cub Master.  And it's lots of fun.

I'm thankful for the chance to "stay young" with the Cub Scouts!

Go for the Blue and Gold!!

Once again it was Blue and Gold Banquet time!!  And no wonder they do it at our building - we have the outdoor basketball court - we live in SoCal so we can do this sort of thing in February!!  Seems like we do spend a lot of time "rounding up" everyone however!!

The Stake Primary did the food - chilli dogs and lots of trimmings.

Arcadia Ward made these for their centerpieces - not sure what the names mean - but they were lovely and springlike!

Can I just say that I love my Cub Scout calling??  We sang songs while the boys were divided up into groups - and were given a basket of props - 10 minutes later they had to put on a skit - and they were pretty hilarious!!  I purposely didn't put in anything that looked even remotely like a weapon - but they still made weapons out of them - to foil the bad guys of course!!  

Good food, good singing, good entertainment - a great way to have a really good evening!!

Thankful for all my years in Cub Scouts - and thankful that I still get to work with them now.  I am a Cub Master.  Porter came to his first Pack Meeting and said, "My grandma works for the Cub Scouts, and I get to come!!"

It was fun to work with Harry and Noah - and now Porter.

Gotta love 8 year-old boys!!
