Hey, what's this?

Hey, what's this?

Grandma Clayton has taken down "the wall" that has graced the living room on Horace Street for over 40 years! (I know that because it went up the year I graduated from high school - Joan and I got hers, mine and Lyn's pictures framed and gave them to Mom and Dad for Christmas that year. It just grew from there!)

So yesterday she brought my pix back to me - not sure what I will do with it - seemed to have more class (no pun intended) when it was up there with the rest of the crowd!

For now it's hanging up in the guest room - there was an empty nail there!!

Just so you know, Mom, I love that picture. Not just your senior picture (which I do love because you were so doe-eyed and that shirt and haircut are great), but the shot of Porter looking at his eighteen-year-old grandma. I think it's so cute. It's currently the wallpaper on my PC at work.

I have to say that I am said that Grandma's change didn't include putting the pictures back up somewhere else!
I am always nostalgic and sentimental. About EVRYTHING! Can I get a copy of your doe-eyed 18 year old self?

You bet!! I'm sure the technology can handle it - I have a smaller version of it - one with a cap and gown too - and a feather boa!!

I put mine up in the living room. Bill said I had lots of pictures on the wall so up it went. It does look out of place without the other ones.

Mine will have to stay down for a while as I am not sure how to get it here to Kiev. It will seem very strange not to see those pictures on the wall. It has been soooooooooo long that they were up. It is an end to an era but we must look forward. Grandma Connie was always one for looking ahead and not behind. I am glad that Mom is doing what she wants to do and not being over sentimental just because Dad really liked those pictures.

Okay, I'm definitely going to have to get a copy of the feather boa one. I haven't even seen it and I like it already.

Actually, I've been meaning for a while to get copies of lots of your pics of you and Dad in your younger days.

Maybe when I'm down there next week I'll get on that.

The feather boa pix even had a story to go with it - maybe the stuff of a blog posting!!
