Mary, Mary!!

I keep coming across random photos of my mom.  Everyone says that Hannah really takes after her. And she does.  You see it more when she is smiling though, I think.

The one above and the one below have some similarities.

 

And I always think of old photos of my mom when I see Hannah's reincarnation of that era.

 

And I sure did like that dress - seems amazing that it ever fit me!!

Waiting for Antanna!!

We are looking forward to Hannah's upcoming visit.  She will come for a few days while Robbie is traveling.  Hannah's visits have always been looked forward to by certain special people we know called GRANDCHILDREN!!

Here's a little "blast from the past" as Hannah is shown with the crop of grandkids in 2005.

They're not all in SoCal these days, but I'm sure the ones who are here will once again enjoy time with "Antanna," the pet nickname for the lovely Hannoula Flannagan!!

And the grown-ups will enjoy visiting with her too!!

Tomorrow is the Spelling Bee at Clifton. One of my students placed 2nd in his grade level last year, and he's competing again tomorrow. As is Wyatt Gray, Amy's boy.

So when I came across this in a box in the office, I chuckled a little. I have tried describing the trophy Hannah got the year she placed first in the 6th grade, and I don't think my kids believe me. There are no individual trophies anymore - at least not at the school level. They get books as prizes. My student Nick liked the book he got the year he placed 2nd in 6th grade, but not the one he got in 7th grade. He says he hopes it's a better book this time.

At least he's confident about placing!!
