Some pre-boarding thoughts!

This photo has nothing to do with the post. But Karl says you need photos or posts get boring. The photo is of my collection of books to give away or sell. I'm leaving them out - maybe while I'm gone, Harry will figure out how to exchange them for cash!!

What I wanted to share was a quote we used in our Ward Conference presentations for the last 5 months - we did one a month since February. I'm glad to be finished. But it took all that time for this quote to really have an impact on me.

Chieko Okazaki, former counselor in the General Relief Society Presidency, said, "Remember, the goal of faith is not a problem-free life; the goal of faith is salvation."

I think we should all memorize it, and repeat it to ourselves often.

mom, karl isn't very good at reading anyone's blogs, so i don't think you need to follow his "rules" so closely.

I myself like a picture - I just like to blame things on Karl!!

I like the quote. You would have given that presentation a lot more in our stake, 11 wards! (12 until two months ago when they changed how they did singles ward and they disolved ours)

But back to the quote. I do really like it, and I think I might write it on a card to try and memorize it!

Karen, we do have a very tiny stake. When others are impressed that I am Stake R.S. Pres., I try not to mention that we only have 5 wards - as a presidency, we represent 4 or thosee 5, which certainly simplifies many things.

But I enjoy the calling!
