This photo was taken a year ago. I decided to have my mom, Marjorie, and Helen over for dinner - just them. They had all commented that when everyone was there, it was noisy and hard for them to hear and be part of the conversation. So I had the idea to just have them over.
It was a good idea, and the meal was lovely. I think they all had a great time too. At this little dinner party, my mom started discussing her dream of riding the train across Canada - a dream she realized this summer.
I'm grateful I acted on an impulse - and hope I learned a lesson!
