Friday's Fave Foto Feature

Here we come full circle - it's time to start recycling the names of the days - I'm tired of trying to alliterate!

Since we have the Bolander Babes for the weekend, I thought I'd post a shot of some Clayton kids circa the 50's.

It is related - clusters of kids and the fun and the chaos it entails - there were always clusters of kids at the Claytons on Horace Street - and we seem to have clusters of kids here on Primrose quite often - thank heavens!

Sometimes I see pictures of kids like this one and think, "Wow, that's a lot of kids." Then I find myself counting the "kids" and realizing there are as many as I have! I then catch myself saying, "That's not too many kids afterall."

I am 3rd oldest - I was 9 or 10 in this pic, so Joan and Lyn were probably doing something more sophisticated than posing for pictures - or maybe they took the pictures - I have no idea - I don't even remember them being taken - although I do remember seeing them around all my life (the pictures and the siblings!!)

I know that's Alice and--the blonde girl is maybe Leslie?--so who are the other two? I can't tell if the baby is a boy or girl and I have no idea who the boy is. I can name all of your siblings, but not in order. All I know as far as order is Joan, Lyn, Barbara, Alice, blablablablabla Donna, David.

Actually I guess the blond girl is Mary?

It's Barbara holding Richard, Alice behind me, Mary is the little girl and Charlie is the boy.

This picture was taken by Uncle Monroe and was around for a long time. Then a few years ago (20+ more likely) I wrote to Uncle Monroe and asked him to mail me all of the negatives that he had of us. He sent a few but not nearly as many as I had thought he had. He used to come once a year and take pictures of us. They are the only ones that we have of us during that time except for the ones taken by the TV studio when MOM won the washer and dryer.

Or maybe switch Leslie and Billy.

I have no idea, actually.

So...Joan, Lyn, Barbara, Alice, Charlie, Mary, Richard, [Billy, Leslie, Bobby,] Donna, David?

That’s my guess.

Okay weird, why are my comments showing up backwards??

When I see my old roommates, most of them try to see if they still remember the names of my siblings!
